No gym for these stars

With their hectic shooting schedules, TV actors settle on diverse ways to keep fit

The hectic shooting schedules of actors often leave them with no time to visit the gym. But since being physically fit is a must for their profession, some of them have found alternatives to gym that help them maintain their physique.

Popularly known as the Hatim of small screen, Rajbeer Singh runs in the vicinity of the sets as he is mostly tied up with shooting. He says, “I love to run. Wherever I find good space... I start running. It is the best exercise to remain fit. Whenever I get a break in between shoots I run around the sets. Once I ran from my home in Mumbai to my shooting set located in Naigaon.” “There is no substitute for fresh air and this is any day better than the air-conditioned air in gyms. Running always makes me feel fresh and rejuvenated. I have had this habit since my school days,” he adds. Jagya of Balika Vadhu aka Shashank Vyas has been addicted to running since he was a kid. He says, “I run four kilometers daily. I try to adjust according to my shoot schedule. I remember, in school I use to participate in 100 meters and 200 meters races. I have continued since then. This routine also helps me to keep my weight under control.” While the men keep fit by running, Dipika Singh of Diya Aur Baati fame says that her shooting schedule these days is like exercise for her. Currently the show is focusing on the track where Sandhya, Dipika’s character, is gearing up to become an IPS officer. She says, “The track demands me to do a lot of rigorous outdoor tasks, which a person normally undergoes while training to be an IPS officer. To get in the skin of the character I have a martial arts trainer who trains me personally after or before shoots twice or thrice a week. This helps me to be in shape.” “Along with these, I also like to run and go for morning and evening walks,” she adds.

On the other hand, actress Adaa Khan learns belly dancing. She says, “I loved this dance form and was attracted to it. I go for dance classes thrice a week and this makes me flexible.”
