Lack of evidence? Pakistan court grants bail to 26/11-accused Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi
Islamabad: Top LeT commander and Mumbai attack mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi has been granted bail by anti-terror court in Pakistan on Thursday. The court cited 'lack of evidence' to keep him behind bars any longer.
Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, who was arrested by Pakistan after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, was kept at the Aadiyala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Lakhvi was among the seven accused are facing trial in connection with the Mumbai attacks case. Lakhvi was arrested in December 2008 from a LeT camp near Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's capital Muzaffarabad.

Ajmal Kasab, the lone Mumbai attacker captured alive and given death sentence on November 21, 2012, had revealed that Lakhvi had recruited him.
Lakhvi's bail comes a day after Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sahrif vowed to fight terrorism.
Hafiz Saeed, another accused for plotting the 26/11 attacks, already roams free in Pakistan. He reportedly blamed India for the massacre of the children at the Peshawar school and vowed revenge on a national TV channel earlier on Wednesday.
Pakistan-based terror outfits carried major terror attacks, which drew widespread global condemnation, in Mumbai on November 26, 2008, killing 166 people and injuring hundred of others.
